Why Self Care?

A self care routine helps you reconnect with yourself. You’re not JUST a mom.

You’re a woman with many roles, one of which is “mommy”.

As a working mom, you have limited time, most of which is used prioritizing the needs of others.

I help women, like you, build simple sustainable self care routines that impact the 5 wellness points that will make you feel the most whole and connected with yourself. The routine includes activities that take only 5 to 20 minutes of your precious time

It’s time to get Back to You in 5!

“I want women to feel empowered through motherhood. I truly believe we become great mothers by being true to ourselves and by feeling whole as women. That is what self care is to me - wholeness.” -Brittany Elliott

Self care is the practice of protecting your well-being and happiness.

About Brittany Elliott

I know what it's like to get stuck in a cycle of overwhelm, exhaustion, resentment and frustration...and I know HOW to get out of that cycle.

In April 2020, I'd realized I'd lost connection with myself. My daughter was 2 years old, I'd been married almost a year, and we were in the process of buying a home. Like many others, the pandemic had turned my home into a workplace. I spent many days working at my dining room table in my pajamas. I was lost.

I was moving through my day, as I normally would, when I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror. I was surprised to see a reflection I did not recognize. I couldn't quite remember the last time I'd looked in the mirror.

I looked as tired as I felt and slightly disheveled. I truly looked like a woman who did not care about herself.  It was more than an identity crisis. I was experiencing a shattered sense of self. “How did I get here?” I thought.

My reflection had revealed all of the things I’d felt too guilty to talk about. Motherhood was breaking me.

Those few moments looking at my reflection showed me that while I'd been working hard as a mother, wife, and employee, I'd lost my connection with myself. I cared so deeply about my daughter and my husband, but I never took a moment to check in with myself.

I hadn’t truly processed becoming a mother. My daughter was 2 years old, and I hadn’t taken a moment to appreciate the growth I’d made in the motherhood journey or how much I had learned. I honestly hadn’t come to terms with the fact that I was a mother, and my whole world had changed.

It wasn’t motherhood that broke me, though. I was broken by my approach to motherhood.

I decided to change my approach and make the time, even if it were a small amount, to regain my sense of self. I committed to 5 minutes of self care each day.

I learned it wasn’t just about the activities, but how the activities impacted my long term overall wellness. I had to build my emotional wellness first, then move to my social wellness, physical wellness, spiritual wellness, and intellectual wellness.

Today, I am happy to report that I feel immense joy in my motherhood journey, and feel more connected to myself than ever.

Today, I help working moms build simple, sustainable self care routines that impact their overall wellness and enrich their lives.

Back to You in 5 has 3 core pillars: Reflect. Reconnect. Renew.

Reflect on your growth and what you have accomplished along the motherhood journey.

Reconnect with yourself by returning to the passions and interests that make you who you are as a woman.

Renew your confidence, establish better habits, set new goals, and thrive throughout your journey.

Consistent self-care decreases anxiety and stress, increases confidence and improves the relationship you have with yourself.

I appreciate you!

Motherhood is a journey, not a destination.
