about Brittany Elliott

Podcaster and Self Care Mentor

I help mothers reconnect with themselves through self care, because I know what it's like to get stuck in a cycle of overwhelm, exhaustion, resentment and frustration...and I know HOW to get out of that cycle.

In April 2020, I'd realized I'd lost connection with myself. My daughter was 2 years old, I'd been married almost a year and we were in the process of buying a home. Like many others, the pandemic had turned home into a workspace. I spent many days working at my dining room table in my pajamas.

I don't remember the date, but I do remember how I felt the day I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror. I looked older, a bit tired and not how I'd recalled. I couldn't remember the last time I'd looked in the mirror. Was it during my honeymoon the year before? I hadn't taken a picture of myself in months and my phone's photo album was filled mostly with pictures of my daughter.

Those few moments looking at my reflection showed me that while I'd been working hard as a mother, wife and employee, I'd lost my connection to myself. I decided to change that and make the time, even if it were a small amount, to regain my sense of self.

I committed to 5 minutes of self care each day. That commitment changed my life. It can change yours too! Self care is more about the decisions we make than the activities we do. The more you set boundaries, move yourself up on the priority list, and make time for yourself, the more you'll start feeling vibrant, calm, encouraged and gratified.
